7 Things That Bring Donors Long Term Satisfaction! #4 Personal Connection

When you started giving to a charity what was the deciding factor?
  • A social injustice you are passionate about
  • A local, national, or international disaster
  • Members of family or friends are/were affected by it...
Most of the time we give to a charity because we feel a personal connection. Over time we can lose that feeling when the charity loses sight of how we became involved in the first place.

7 Things That Bring Donors Long Term Satisfaction!

You are a generous person. Yes, that's right, YOU! Research statistics tell me YOU love helping out, giving back, and supporting great causes!
Your looking at me concerned thinking, "That's a little overboard don't you think?".
In 2015 71% of Charitable giving in the USA was from INDIVIDUALS! Up 3.8% from the year before! Outside the USA the World Giving Index Chart shows your generosity is outstanding! -- And goes on to say: "Some of the world’s most generous countries are among the most deprived." WHAT?! -- That's right, GENEROSITY thrives even in the most deprived countries!
Our family gives to both organizations and individuals. In the past we have raised support to work as full-time volunteers. We worked with nonprofits in developing countries.
We don't believe that fundraising should be intimidating. For you, or for us.
Here are 7 things that bring long term satisfaction in charitable giving.
  1. Trustworthy (Legitimate)
  2. Lasting Impact! (Gets things done!)
  3. Great Communication (Keeps you informed)
  4. Personal Connection (your "Inside Source" in the field)
  5. Commitment (owning it!)
  6. Involvement (donor participation)
  7. A Sincere "Thank You!" (Appreciation!)
Mercy Ships will be our real "working model" charity for this series.
Mercy Ships operates the Africa Mercy. The Africa Mercy is the largest non-governmental hospital ship in the world.  The ship provides FREE care to those in desperate need. It operates completely by volunteers!
As your guide, We will show you that Mercy Ships is legitimate! They get things done and they provide great resources in various forms to keep you informed. If you support our family we BECOME your "Inside Source"! We also "own it" by committing to at least 2 years of volunteer service. By supporting a crew member (and family) not only do you "own it" you stay involved. Mercy Ships AND our family are appreciative for your ongoing support. Let us be your representative in the field! -- Click the links above to reach each post or pick only the ones you want to read.
